Privacy Policy

How This Website Handles Your Information

This policy explains how the Rowlett Hardware website handles information about the people who visit it. It covers this website only. It does not cover what we collect in our stores, on paper forms, or over the phone.

We are a hardware store, not a data company. We collect very little through this site, and we do not sell any of it.

Information You Give Us

Two forms on this site collect information: the contact form and the employment application. You choose what to send us. The contact form asks for your name and a way to reach you, plus whatever you write in your message. The employment application asks for the details we need to consider you for a job.

These forms run on our own website. They are not handled by an outside form service. When you submit one, it is saved in our website administration area and sent by email to the staff who handle that kind of request. We use it to answer you, and for nothing else.

Our website screens submissions with a spam filter that runs on our own server. It scores each message so junk does not reach our staff. A message the filter flags is held for up to ninety days and then deleted. Nothing about that screening is sent to another company.

Some of our forms are meant to be printed instead of submitted. The charge account application, the Texas agricultural exemption certificate, and the resale certificate are downloaded, filled in by hand, and brought to a store. The website never receives what you write on them.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, ours records some basic technical details as you browse. That includes which pages you view, the general region you are connecting from, the site that referred you, and the type of browser and device you use.

We look at this to see which pages are useful and to find problems. We do not use it to work out who you are, and we do not try to match it to a name.

Analytics and Cookies

We use two analytics tools. The first is Matomo, which is hosted by our website provider. Because it is provider-hosted, that traffic data stays with the people who run our site and is not shared with an advertising network.

The second is Google Analytics, which we load through Google Tag Manager. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy and may set cookies in your browser.

A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognize the browser on a later visit. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Google also offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics. Blocking cookies will not break this website. Pages, forms, and store information all work the same way without them.

Search Engines

Google, Bing, and other search engines visit the public pages of this site so they can list them in search results. We use the free webmaster tools those companies provide. Those tools show us which search terms bring people to the site and warn us about technical problems. They report totals and trends, not individual visitors.

Search engines run independently of us and follow their own privacy policies. We cannot control what they collect when you use them.

Embedded Maps and Content

Our store location pages include a Google Maps frame so you can see where each store sits and get directions. When a page with that map loads, your browser connects to Google, and Google may collect information as though you had gone to Google Maps yourself. We do not receive that information.

This site also loads fonts and icons from outside providers so pages display correctly. Those requests share your network address with the provider serving the file, the same as any image loaded from another website.

Links to Other Websites

We link out to the manufacturers whose products we carry, and to our page on Facebook. Those links are there for your convenience.

Once you follow one, you are on a website we do not own or run. Anything you do or enter there is covered by that company's privacy policy, not this one, and we do not receive it. We suggest reading the policy of any site you share information with.

Account Paperwork and Store Records

Charge account applications, tax exemption certificates, and resale certificates are handled in our stores. They are kept apart from this website, and the website has no access to them.

We share what is on them only when the law requires it. Sending us a message through this site does not open an account or put anything into our store records. That happens only after our staff review paperwork you bring in.

What We Do Not Do

We do not sell your information. We do not trade or rent it to advertisers or data brokers. We do not send you marketing because you filled out a contact form.

We share information only with the service providers that keep this website running, and only as much as each one needs:

  • The company that hosts and maintains this website, Sagentic Web Design
  • The analytics tools named above, which receive traffic data
  • Search engines, which receive the public pages of the site
  • The email service that delivers form submissions to our staff

We also share information where the law requires it.

Children

This website is not directed to children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes and Questions

We may update this policy as the website changes. When we do, the revised version is posted on this page with a new date below.

If you have a question about this policy or about information you sent us, reach us through our contact page or by calling or visiting any of our stores.

Four Hardware Stores. One Family. Since 2000.

Stop by Cleburne, Grandview, Rio Vista or Godley

Staff is always friendly and more than not have the things you need without heading to the big box stores. Sure went the extra mile during this last year's cold front with propane.

John Coker Godley, Texas

Conveniently located hardware store in Rio Vista that has a wide selection of just about anything you’ll need to complete that household project. I’m a DIY guy and every time I go in this place I’m amazed to discover some other unique item they have in stock that I never would’ve guessed that they would carry. And they always seem to be open and the people that run it are very nice and knowledgeable.

Richard Rio Vista, Texas

Good service and the price difference between them and the big box stores is really about the same and in some cases even cheaper. Biggest thing is if you ask questions you get answers.

Don Wilson Cleburne, Texas
