Tired of carrying two or three different keys to the same house? We can re-key your locks so one key opens all of them. Bring the locks to our Cleburne or Grandview store and we will set them to match.
We can also work the other direction. If you bought a new knob or deadbolt, we can re-key it to the key you already carry instead of adding another one to your ring.
When Re-Keying Makes Sense
Re-keying changes which key opens a lock without replacing the hardware. It is faster and cheaper than buying new locks, and there are a few times it is worth doing right away.
- You Just Moved In
There is no way to know how many keys to your new house are still out there. Re-keying every exterior lock puts you back in control on day one. - A Key Went Missing
A lost key on a ring with an address tag is a real risk. Re-keying retires that key for good. - Work Crews Had Access
After a remodel or a repair job where a key was handed out, re-keying closes the loop. - Rental Turnover
Landlords across Johnson County re-key between tenants rather than trusting that every copy came back. - Too Many Keys
Front door, back door, and shop door on three different keys is three chances to grab the wrong one. One key fixes it.
What to Bring
How much you bring depends on what you want done.
- The Locks Themselves
Remove the knobs or deadbolts and bring them in. We work on the lock cylinder, so we need the hardware in hand. - A Key You Want to Keep
To match new hardware to your existing key, bring that key along with the new lock. - All of Them at Once
Bring every lock you want keyed alike in the same trip. Setting them together is the only way to guarantee one key runs the whole house. - New Hardware
If you are replacing a worn knob anyway, pick the new one out here and we can key it to match before you leave.
We also cut keys at the counter, so you can pick up spares for family members while you are in the store.
